‘BJ’ and ‘Hejjegalu’ starts!

On a single day on last Sunday he launched two films ‘Bettada Jeeva’ a novel written by Jnanapeeth Award winner Dr Shivarama Karanth 78 years ago that will be handled by award winning director P Seshadri. The second film which Basanthkumar Patil launched was children film ‘Hejjegalu’ in the direction of another award winning director P Ramdas Naidu.

“I am blessed today for the presence of Infosys founder NR Narayana Murthy and Sudha Murthy madam and at the same time on the occasion of 108 birth anniversary of Dr Shivarama Karanth the film based on his novel is launching”, disclosed Basanthkumar Patil.

Director P Seshadri, the continuous six films award winner at the state and national level said at 48 years of his age he is taking up direction of a novel written 78 years ago. It will be with the backdrop of quit India movement. P Seshadri is looking for a house in Puttur taluk of Dakshin Kannada district for shooting purpose. It is in this old house a person lived and on his ideologies Dr Shivarama Karanth had written the novel ‘Bettada Jeeva’.

HG Dattatreya is playing the lead role of Gopalaiah in the film.

P Ramdas Naidu another award winner for three of his earlier films is handling the children’s film ‘Hejjegalu’ in which baby Prakruthi plays the central role.

Dr Girish Kasaravalli and Jayanth Kaikini spoke on the novel and life of Dr Shivarama Karanth on this occasion.
