‘DD’ Set asset!

The ‘Dhandam Dashagunam’ wooden set at Chaklihole dam in Kushalnagar near to Dubare Forest looked the main attraction for the media when a visit was made on Wednesday morning where a song sequence was shot featuring Ramya and Chiranjeevi Sarja by choreographer Chinni Prakash. It was at the Bagamandala outflow and Chaklihole dam joining place art director Mohan B Kere made this set with the help of 45 carpenters in 40 days investing nearly 22 lakhs of rupees.

All the sides of the set were surrounded by forest was chosen after rejecting a place in Srilanka by producer Ganesh and art director Mohan B Kere. The set before the dam, water gushed in and was submerged causing wastage of nearly five lakhs of rupees. But going to nine feet deep with the divers help Mohan B Kere did not stop his zeal.

Art director of 40 Kannada films Mohan worked on similar sets for Aramane, Sangama and Maleyali Jotheyali Kannada films. His aim, he has set up a floating set for the entire film that would cost nearly 1.5 crores.

This wooden set on the river bank is the house of the heroine Ramya. At this place seven days of shooting is held. An action scene and a song is also part of this schedule says producer Ganesh, the sitting secretary of the Presidents wing at KFCC.

The permission for this set erection has been sought from Dubari forest, Panchayat and Cauvery Water Board. For Panchayat the fee is Rs.5000, for water board and forest department Rs.10000 is the daily rental with Rs.20000 as deposit. For permission alone Rs.4.5 lakh is spent by the producer.
