After ‘Jai Ho’, Bollywood Anna Suniel Shetty takes on the lead role in Asshu Trikha’s forthcoming directorial ‘Koyelaanchal’.

With a remarkable ensemble of cast including veteran actors Vinod Khanna and debutante Vipinno, the film is based on the coal mafia in Jharkhand. The other cast includes Purva Parag, Brij Gopal, Kannan Arunachalam, Deepraj Rana,Biswanath Basu and Ravi Singh. The film also has actors from Bengal Industry and from Jharkhand, as well as a host of NSD and theatre actors to add to the authenticity of the characters in the film.

Talking about ‘Koyelaanchal’ Asshu Trikha stated, "Koyelaanchal is a look into the most dangerous and oldest mafia in our country - The Coal Mafia."

The movie is loosely based against the backdrop of Indian politics and the nexus of the coal mafia in the state. The movie throws light on the plight of the villages who are stuck in between the politicians and mafia. The sheer haplessness gives birth to a rebel Karua (Vipinno) who decides to take matters in his own hands and fight for justice.

An honest IAS officer Nisheeth Kumar (Suniel Shetty) on a new posting decides to fight a battle to prevent ecological disaster and to save an entire land, struggling to unearth the truth, protect his loved ones, and at the same time bring about law and order that this land has never seen, battling against a village head honcho Saryo Bhan Singh (Vinod Khanna) who refuses to relinquish power and is willing to do anything for his selfish needs. Coal and power battle it out to a shattering climax.

Bannered under AMA Entertainment, ‘Koyelaanchal’ is all set for a 9th May release.
