“You can suppress the smoke but you can’t suppress the fire” was the response by director Samy to the question regarding the ban slapped on him. “I will come out like fire”, thundered the director.

Samy sounds quite confident after the decent opening of 'Mirugam'. “I have given a quality film. This film will help me to get the ban revoked”, said the director. Samy, who met the press yesterday (December 17) following the release of his 'Mirugam' starring newcomer Aadi and Padmapriya, talked at length about various issues.

He gave a detailed account of what went wrong with Padmapriya during the shooting of 'Mirugam'. There is no doubt that she is a very talented actor, said Samy. “The only problem with her is her non co-operation during the shooting, which had caused huge loss of money to the producer”, explained the director.

He felt that the ban that came after her allegation against him would be revoked by the concerned outfits after seeing the film. “If they don’t, I’ll try to break the barrier in all possible ways” asserted the director. “I may even go to a place to make a film where this ban doesn’t apply”.

Samy, who was keeping a low profile on the issue, has come out strongly against the ban for the first time. The release and the positive response have definitely given him the much needed courage to take on his opponents.

Coming days will show whether this courage could help him to get the ban revoked.
