After striking a chord with its sensitive story line with 'Mumbai Meri Jaan', UTV Motion Pictures is all set this time to release a thriller, 'A Wednesday' on September 5, 2008 worldwide, which deals with the effects of terrorism on society. Directed by first time director Neeraj Pandey, the film brings together, the two icons of Indian film industry, Naseeruddin Shah & Anupam Kher, on the big screen after a gap of more than a decade.

After earning appreciation from Chief Minster of Gujarat Mr. Narendra Modi and Mumbai police team- Mr. Rakesh Maria, Mr. Javed Ahmed, Mr. A N Roy and officials from the ATS (Anti Terrorist Squad) had to say the same for the film last week. UTV hosted a special screening of 'A Wednesday' for Chief Minister of Delhi Ms. Sheila Dixit and Union Minister of State Mr. Shivraj Patil, on 3rd September. The Lieutenant Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi -Tajendra Khanna watched the film earlier this week. The leader of opposition-Mr. L K Advani will watch the film in the coming days.

Debutant director Neeraj Pandey turns the grim reality of terrorism into an engaging game of cat - and - mouse played between a master blaster (Naseruddin Shah) and a senior cop (Anupam Kher). The film presents yet another heart wrenching drama in its own unique way- 'A Wednesday', a film that tells the story of certain events that unfold between 2 and 6 pm on a particular Wednesday - events which do not exist in any record but which deeply effect the lives of those involved including the cops, politicians and the public.

"It's very important for us actors to come forward and help a film that's done with sincerity of purpose and has got a message behind it," says Mr. Anupam Kher,

Naseeruddin Shah plays the terrorist while Anupam plays a police commissioner, who is all set to stop Naseer's terror activities. The film also stars Jimmy Shergill, Aamir Bashir and Deepal Shaw.
