Kamal lauds Kerala CM for his revolutionary move

Ulaganayagan Kamal Hassan is well known for his ideas and opinions which are progressive. Welcoming the Kerela state’s move to appoint non- Brahmins as priests in Travancore Devaswom Board, Kamal has lauded Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for the landmark decision.

"Bravo Travancore Devaswom Board. Salute to Kerela CM Mr.Pinarayi Vijayan for appointing 36 non- Brahmin priests. Periar's dream realised," the actor tweeted. The Travancore Devaswom Temple Recruitment Board appointed 6 dalit priests and 56 others belonging to various communities. 

While the list comprises of 26 brahmins, the remaing 36 members belong to non- brahmin communities. This is the first time a dalit is being appointed as a priest by temple’s board.
