The cast and crew of ‘Kisaan’ came together for the special screening in Delhi recently. The movie is a melodramatic saga of a powerful father, and his two sons. It presents an honest view of the rugged life and goals of a simple farming family against the lush green agricultural lands of modern day Punjab.

Directed by Punit Sira and produced by Sohail Khan Productions and UTV Motion Pictures’, ‘Kisaan stars Sohail Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Jackie Shroff, Dia Mirza, Nauheed Cyrusi, Dalip Tahil.

Sohail Khan had to speak a lot of Punjabi for Kisaan and said. “It's my first raw-and-real film. And my Punjabi is very dubious. I had to polish it up before I could face the camera. But it's okay. I like wearing different hats especially for my brothers." Even Jackie Dada had to leave his trademark “beedu” style to speak authentic Punjabi.

On asked why they chose such an unusual subject as the theme of the film, this is what Arbaaz Khan had to say, “Farmer deaths have reached an all time high in our country. It’s not like it’s a problem that has just started. On the contrary, it’s a problem our country has been facing for centuries. We just decided to make a film on the basic difficulty faced by our motherland. I am very happy with the way the film has turned out and hope the audience appreciates our hard work.”

The music is given by Daboo Malik while the lyrics are done by S. R. Bharti, Kanwar Juneja, Panchhi Jalonvi and Salim Bijnauri.

Watch this season’s most hard-hitting drama unfolding from today.
