One of the top music composers of the current generation Anirudh Ravichander has crooned a song composed by ‘Isaipuyal’ A.R.Rahman for director Shankar’s mega budget flick ‘Ai’.
Anirudh has been identified as a good singer and he has been singing in films that have music by other composers too. Now the young and talented lad has got the opportunity to sing a song under the aegis of internationally acclaimed music composer A.R.Rahman.
In an exclusive interview to the Indiaglitz correspondent, Anirudh confirmed the news saying "yes it is true that I have crooned the opening song in Ai. Rahman sir called me and gave this opportunity".
When asked to share his experiences on working with the double Oscar winner and the director of blockbuster and critically acclaimed films, Anirudh said "Both Shankar sir and Rahman sir are my childhood heroes. I was very nervous when I got a call to work with them. But in Rahman sir’s recording session I was as comfortable as I would be in my own recording session. For recording the song, I spent one full day with Rahman sir and Shankar sir. We had a gala time together and discussed a lot many things that relate to music, cinema and other stuffs".
It is to be noted that Rahman had mentioned in a recent interview that he has been continuously keeping a tab on Anirudh’s songs and performance. Now the positive impact on the veteran composer landed a golden opportunity for this young gun.
'Ai' stars Vikram and Amy Jackson in lead roles and veteran P.C.Sreeram has cranked the camera. The film has been produced Aascar V.Ravichandran under the Ascar Films banner.
