A meaningful and thought provoking Kannada film ‘Mukhaputa’ (‘Cover Page’ in English) on the HIV AIDS that has world wide relevance an awareness creating debut direction of brilliant Roopa Iyer is a ‘wonderful pain’ for me says one of the producers of the film Prof. Narayana Hosmane after he viewed the film at the first premier on Monday evening at Arjun Art Studio in Malleswaram, Bangalore. Wonderful is for the clever making by Roopa Iyer and Pain is for the disgusting disease of this world ‘AIDS’ is what Dr Hosmane meant in his statement.

A cancer research specialist living in United States of America for over three and half decades Dr. Narayan Hosmane came down from Germany specially for meeting his mother and attending his film premier arranged by his brother and co producer Subraya Hosmane and debutant director Ms Roopa Iyer the multifaceted personality.

There are many ways of doing research on cancer but to speak on AIDS the rising disease of this universe the film media is the only format I thought to explain with message. I wanted the misconception on AIDS to go. The pill is sugar coated and given for patients to cure the diseases. Like that to cure the wrong conceptions on AIDS this is sugar coating via entertainment in ‘Mukhaputa’ I felt disclosed Hosmane. In fact what I had in my mind Roopa Iyer matched it when she first met me at Chicago to explain her views. Today I am satisfied and success of this goes to Roopa Iyer congratulated the learned professor with lot of acclamation in his professional career.

Today I am satisfied with the outcome of Roopa Iyer direction. Encouragement is mine success goes to Roopa Iyer said the professor in flawless Kannada and checked with his good friend noted writer Jayanth Kaikini whether he spoke the correct Kannada.

Prof Narayana Hosmane admitted he was in tears especially when the child affected with HIV neglected sing a song Nanna Usirigu Ondhu Muththu Kodu…. at the climax. On why he took up a Kannada film he said he has admiration for the language although he is staying in USA for last three and half decades.
