'My 'Pokkisham' is an analysis of the changing times and the difference it makes in a human being', says actor – director Cheran.

'Pokkisham' is a period film that is set in 1970s and it chronicles the life of a youth. Padmapriya plays his ladylove in the movie, which is almost completed.

"My films are decided by the changing times. After completing 'Autograph', I was exposed to foreign films in an International film festival, which created an urge in me to do quality films. Then I made 'Thavamai Thavamirundhu'. Now I feel, 'Pokkisham' is an extension to it," says director Cheran.

He feels the audience has identified his real self with the role that he played in 'Mayakkannadi'. It was a movie with noble intentions, but lost out badly.

Expressing his happiness at some good movies being churned out in Tamil cinema, the director continues, 'there are a handful of good youngsters, who have forayed to Tamil cinema. They are coming out with excellent movies today. It is a healthy sign which should be graced with warmth'.
