The shooting of ‘Rajanna’, directed by Vijayendra Prasad and produced by Akkineni Nagarjuna on the banner of Annapurna Studios was launched formally at the ‘Maryada Ramanna’ house set in Kokapet with Nagarjuna playing the title role.

The muhurat was held with a grand puja there. The film deals with the story of a martyr who fought with the Rajakars during the armed struggle of Nizam’s regime.

Nagarjuna says, ‘The entire film would have dialogues in out and out Telangana dialect and the film runs with pre-Independence era in the backdrop.

However, Nagarjuna would join the unit in November after completing the present project ‘Ragada’ with Veeru Potla. In a contrast, Nagarjuna is playing the role of the owner of a market yard in Kadapa and he makes use of complete Rayalaseema slang for ‘Ragada’.

While Sneha is pairing opposite Nagarjuna in ‘Rajanna’, Anushka and Priyamani are co-starring with Nag in ‘Ragada’.
