Underworld dons, sibling love, bouncers and four friends - it is this familiar Bollywood world that debutant director Vikram Chopra delves into in his action-comedy "Fight Club", featuring an ensemble cast of 14 actors.

"Fight Club", releasing Friday, is a fast paced unconventional film that promises a joy ride for movie buffs.

After last year's encouraging audience response to first timers - Pradeep Sarkar's "Parineeta" and Onir's "My Brother Nikhil" - more and more directors are trying their luck in Bollywood with something different.

The revival of the action genre is one pet subject.

"Fight Club" is about four friends - Vicky (Zayed Khan), Karan (Dino Morea), Somil (Riteish Deshmukh) and Diku (Aashish Choudhary) - who always stick together and can do anything for each other. They form a Fight Club to provide a platform to people who want to settle scores with their enemies in an unusual manner.

Sameer, played by Sohail Khan, is a bouncer with a local club and prefers to talk with his fists rather than words. He also joins the club, but has a mission to accomplish.

After a sequence of events, the four friends shift to Delhi to oversee the smooth running of the nightclub, Crossroads, plagued by underworld kingpin Anna's (Sunil Shetty) mind games.

But this menacingly powerful don has a weakness - he dotes on his younger brother Mohit, played by Yash Tonk, and protects him fiercely. When Mohit is killed, Anna explodes and decides to take revenge. Anna's right hand man Sandy, played by Rahul Dev, adds fuel to the fire.

Amrita Arora, Diya Mirza and Neha Dhupia add romance and glamour to this action flick with interesting variations.

Sohail and Ravi Walia have produced the film.

Let's see whether Sohail, who has also penned the script, manages to pack a punch with this film at the box-office.
