The year 2014 has been a year of experiments in Tollywood. Tollywood filmmakers and big actors, trying some different genres this year.

The first experimental film that came this year is '1 Nenokkadine'. This film is a psychological thriller and has been considered as one of the biggest experiments that came in Telugu. The production values of the film are very good. Though the film has got mixed response because of the complexity in the plot, Mahesh Babu, Sukumar and the producers should be appreciated for making such a different film.

After '1 Nenokkadine', the next experimental movie is 'Manam'. Though the reincarnation angle has been tried in many films previously, 'Manam' is a very different and special film. It has been regarded as one of the best entertainers that came in Telugu and has been received by all the sections of the audiences very well. It has turned out of the biggest hit in the career of Akkinenis.

'Drushyam', which was released yesterday, can also be considered as an experimental film as the genre of family thrillers is never touched before in Tollywood. The gripping narration and the performances of Venkatesh, Meena, Nadhiya etc garnered very positive reviews for the film.

Apart from these big films, some small movies like 'Minugurulu' have come this year and the success of all these films encourage writers and directors to come up with some interesting story lines and touch new genres.
