46 films For Awards

As many as 46 Kannada films have entered the fray for the 2009-2010 Karnataka State Film awards and already 78 Kannada films for 2008-2009 have reached the state information department.

The government has to appoint the state film awards committee for deciding the awards for two years besides the appointment of Subsidy committee that would look into Rs.10 lakhs on the basis of quality for 30 films per year besides the declaration of two best children films that would get Rs.25 lakhs.

The 2007-2008 Karnataka state film awards were given away recently in Shimoga the home town of chief minister BS Yediyurappa.

In the list of films in fray for the contest for 2009-2010 recently demised Dr Vishnuvardhana’s ‘Aptha Rakshaka’ and ‘School Master’, Dr Girish Kasaravalli’s ‘Kanasemba Kudureyaneri’ are prominent.

In the list of 46 films there are 18 films not yet released for the public. The film list is – Aptha Rakshaka, Auto, Anischitha, Antharthma, Banni, Bagyadha Balegara, Eddelu Manjunatha, Ekameva, Eradane madhuve, Gaganasakhi, Gurukula, Kazar (Konkani), Holi, Hushaar, Jugari, Just math Mathalli, Kallara Santhe, Kanasemba Kudureyaneri, Karavali Hudugi, Kencha, Kinnara Bale, Ku Ku… Love Guru, Maleyali Jotheali, Manasaare, Muniya, Nirdoshi, Omme Nodidaga, Parikshe, Perol, Police Quarters, Prapatha, Premism, Rasarushi Kuvempu, Runanubandha, Sathya, School Master, Shabari, Shishira, Sriharikathe, Sugriva, Tantra, Traahi, Varshadhare, Yaaradhu and Yukthi.
