49 new taluks, state government move

The state government declared setting of 49 taluks before the January 2018 – the revenue department has released an order to this effect. The Tahsildar now opens the Taluk level offices with this persmission.

The Taluks setting up started in 1973 in Vasudeva Rao commission, in1984 TM Hundekar, 1986 PC Gaddi Gowder, 2007 MB Prakash set up new taluks from a study.

This decentralization is to help the people. In the 2017-2018 state budget adding nine more it was decided to give shape to 49 taluks reorganization. 

According to the new order to set up Taluks – in districts of Bagalkot - Guledgudda, Rabakavi, Banahatti, Ilkal, In Belagavi Nippani and Kagawada, in Chamarajanagara Hanoor, in Davanagere Nyamathi, In Bidar Chitaguppa, Hulasooru, Kamalanagara, In Ballari Kurugodu, Kotturu, Kampli, in Dharwad Annigeri, Alvara, Hubballinagara, in Gadar Gajendragad and Lakshmeshwara, in Kalaburgi Kalagi, Kamalapoora, Yadravi, Shahabad, In Yadagir Hunasagi, Vadagera, Gurmitkal, in Koppala, Kukanur, Kanakagiri, Karatagi, in Raichuru Maski, Siravaara, in Udupi Brahmavara, Kapu, Baiduru, Hebri, in Dakshin Kannada Mudabidire, Kadaba, in Bengaluru Yalahanka, Vijayapura Obaleshwara, Nidagundi, Tikota, Devara Hipparagi, Talikote, Chadachana, Kolhara, in Haveri Rattihalli, in Mysuru Saraguru, Chickmagaluru Ajjampura, in Uttar Kannada Dandeli, in Kolara KGF gets the Taluk status before January 2018.
