97 Years Enagi in ‘Parikshe’

The doyen of stage for over eight decades the much respected personality of Karnataka Enagi Balappa in his 97th year has acted in an off beat Kannada film ‘Parikshe’ directed by Chiru Ravindra and the three short of 100 Enagi Balappa has also dubbed his voice coming to Bangalore from Belgaum.

Enagi Balappa acted in Madi Madidhavaru and on the insistence of Dr Rajakumar played a mentor role in ‘Janumadha Jodi’ the block buster of Kannada cinema from Dr Rajakumar home banner and now he is in the role in this Parikshe for having seen the shades of his famous stage play ‘Jagajyothi Basaveshwara’ he is once again on silver screen.

The contents focused by director Ravindra to eradicate the barriers in life was so similar to 12th century reformer Sri Basaveshwara made me to accept this film stated Enagi Balappa. On the request of the media he also sung a meaningful song Nanagu Aaane Devana Ninagu Aaane….

Another veteran of stage plays, 82 years AS Murthy honored Enagi Balappa with a shawl and garland at the ‘Parikshe’ media briefing.
