Kurukshetram starring Sathyaraj is not just a movie with a strong message but also is a commercial entertainers, says producer-cum-director Rajendra.

A busy actor in Kannada films, Rajendra has acted in over a dozen films there including ones opposite Sai Kiran, Jageesh and Devaraj.

A recipient of the Karnataka State Award for the best supporting actor for his role in the movie Kalla Police, he ventures to Tamil with Kurukshetram.

On choosing Sathyaraj for the lead role in his maiden production venture in Tamil, Rajendra, says, 'He is a dynamic actor, who can deliver the goods irrespective of the role that he performs'.

With an acclaimed director Jayabharathy in the scheme of things, Kurukshetram has shaped up well, he adds.

Rajendra plays a negative role in the movie which also features Roja, Vadivelu and Thalaivasal Vijay in the cast.

Though the movie has a strong message for national integration, there are enough commercial elements in the film which would ensure a commercial success, he says.

Rajendra is also planning to produce another movie again featuring Sathyaraj in the lead role. The movie has been tentatively titled Veluthu Kattu.
