A big weekend ahead

Mollywood is planning to crowd the Box Office with new films for this January, the first of the movies to get into theatres this weekend. The first of the release will be 'Orkut Oru Ormakoot' featuring Rima Kallingal and a gang of new faces, mostly star sons in the lead, which will start playing on theatres from today. Directed by debutantes Manoj and Vinod, the movie is said to be a teen comedy.

Young director Saji Surendran, who has once again teamed up with his hit actor Jayasuriya will have their 'Kunjaliyan' tomorrow on theatres. The most expected of the movies, this sitcom is planned as a laugh riot in the scripts of Krishna Poojappura. But the biggest of the movies to be on Box Office, this weekend will be writer-director A K Sajan's big action venture 'Asuravithu', whose victory will mean much for the new star in the making, Asif Ali. Samvritha Sunil is playing the heroine in this movie which will be the first full time action thriller from Asif Ali.

The month will also have some more big releases in Mammootty's son 'Dulqar Salman's debut film 'Second Show' directed by Sreenath Rajendran. The three big films from big stars for the month will be Lal Jose's 'Spanish Masala', Shaji Kailas's 'The king and the commissioner' and Roshan Andrews 'Casanovva' all set to be on theatres by the final weeks of January.
