Almost all roads in Chennai led to the University Centenary Auditorium in Chennai where the silver jubilee fete of Chandramukhi was celebrated in a grand manner. The movie had completed 100 runs in over 156 theatres, a new record of its kind in Kollywood history.

A cheerful Rajni, who stole the limelight as always, speaking on the occasion, said, ‘the success could not have been possible without hard work. To achieve something you have to negotiate difficulties. When you are hit by a bad phase do not get disheartened. You cannot evoke any pleasure when things land in your lap. Be a good human being and believe in whatever God you worship. The results will be there, even if there be a delay, he said referring to his debacle in Baba indirectly.

Rajnikanth also touched upon the rumors that he was keen on casting Aishwarya Rai for his next film Sivaji. He said that he is not after Aishwarya Rai, to run round the trees. ‘I saw the Neelambari in her and tried for her again in Baba. Not just she is a world beauty but a world class performer. Just imagine the results when beauty and talent blend.’
