A poem on Farhan Akhtar's 'Wazir'

Lyricist Javed Akhtar got inspired and wrote a poem based on Vidhu Vinod Chopra's 'Wazir' after watching the film.

It is a lesser known fact that writer Javed Akhtar and film maker Vidhu Vinod Chopra share a very close bond. Their friendship dates back to 1994 when the renowned lyricist had penned down lyrics for Vinod Chopra's, 1942: A Love story`. As the two enjoy a camaraderie, Vidhu Vinod Chopra held a special screening of his upcoming next, 'Wazir' on Javed Akhtar behest as the film features the latter's son Farhan Akhtar, in the lead role. In fact, Javed Akhtar was the first person to watch the film.

As the talented scriptwriter, Javed Akhtar gave Bollywood's its angry young man and was really excited to watch 'Wazir' as the movie is Farhan Akhtar`s first action film. After watching 'Wazir', Javed Akhtar got extremely inspired and penned a poem for based on the content of the film. However the poem will not be a part of the film. The makers have requested Javed Akhtar to himself recite the poem on the day of Wazir's trailer launch. A spokesperson confirmed and added, "Javed Akhtar was inspired on watching Wazir and immediately took to writing down a poem based on the film."

'Wazir' written by Abhijaat Joshi and Vindhu Vinod Chopra will see Farhan Akhtar slipping into the role of an ATS cop for the very first time alongside super star Amitabh Bachchan. Directed by Bejoy Nambiar and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Wazir is slated to release on 8th January 2016.
