Director Selvah won appreciations for his sincere remake of K Balachander's yesteryear classic Naan Avan Illai. With appreciation pouring in from all quarters, Selvah has started all plans to commence his next.

Sources close to the director say that his next venture too would be a remake of a yesteryear hit.

Buzz is that Selvah is planning to redo Balachander's Noothuku Nooru. The movie featuring Jai Shankar and Lakshmi in lead roles was a thriller.

Search is on for a suitable hero and heroine. Once things work out, the shooting would commence.

Post success of Naan Avanillai, there has been a craze to remake of yesteryear Tamil hits. Ajith is shooting for Billa, plans are on to redo Balachander's Manmadhaleelai and Rajinikanth's Muratu Kalai.

Joining the list would be Noothuku Nooru, which was released in 1971.
