In what could be a one-of-its-kind of fight in Tamil cinema, two films of a same director are going to release simultaneously. They are ‘Vaada’ and ‘Maanja Velu’, both directed by A Venkatesh.

If sources are to be believed, both movies would hit screens during April, to cash in on the summer vacation. Interestingly, Venkatesh’s acting debut ‘Angadi Theru’ was released last week and the director is receiving appreciations from various quarters for proving his mettle in acting.

‘Vaada’, with Sundar C and Sheryl Brindo in lead roles, is produced by Mohan Radha. The film is a commercial caper and was shot in Kashmir and Ooty, apart from a few foreign locations. Sundar plays a van driver in the movie, and his character comes with a twist, say sources.

‘Maanja Velu’, the Arun Vijay starrer is the director’s second film with the actor after ‘Malai Malai’. Produced by Feather Touch Entertainers, the film has Dhanshika of ‘Peranmai’ fame as heroine. The Tamil remake of Telugu hit ‘Lakshayam’ also marks the reentry of yesteryear hero Karthik.
