Venkat Prabhu has become a movie director to reckon with after both his films 'Chennai 600028' and 'Saroja' have become tremendous successes. The director also had avatars as an actor and singer before he actually ventured into the world of movie direction.

When he was an aspiring actor, his father Gangai Amaran had made a film with him playing the lead role and titled it 'Pooncholai'. Sangeetha was the heroine of the film. Unfortunately the film never saw the light of day.

Much water has flown down the bridge now and Venkat Prabhu is a big name as director and a very familiar face to Tamil movie audiences. Probably to cash in on this fame, plans are being made now. How would it be if 'Pooncholai' was released in theaters? Wouldn't audiences like to see Venkat Prabhu as an actor?

Venkat Prabhu is no stranger to acting. He has acted in many movies and a character that many people relate with is his appearance as one of Srikanth's friends in the film 'April Madhaththil'. He has also aced in 'Unnai Saranadainthean' and 'Vaazthukal'.

Will 'Pooncholai' see the light of day now? Let's wait and watch.
