This news indeed comes as a hard blow for the star who enjoyed overall success sometime ago…

Aamir Khan's father Tahir Hussain reported to have died of a massive heart attack Tuesday morning. According to family sources, Hussain died at Aamir's residence in Bandra.

Aamir and his wife Kiran, who are in the US for the Sundance Film Festival, are said to be taking the first flight home. Hussain's grandson and actor Imran Khan is currently in New Zealand and will also be coming back.

Tahir Hussain is survived by his wife, sons Aamir and Faisal, and two daughters, Farhat and Nikhat.

Hussain is noted for his successful productions like "Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke" (1993) featuring son Aamir, "Dulha Bikta Hai" (1982), "Zakhmee" (1975), "Anamika" (1973) and "Caravan" (1971). In 1990, he made his directorial debut with "Tum Mere Ho" with Aamir and Juhi Chawla.

Our condolence to the star and his family…
