Aamir Khan's 'Dangal' goes China

The actor shares an extremely special relationship with this territory, as his movies 'PK', '3 Idiots' and 'Dhoom 3' have secured the place of the top 3 highest grossing Indian films at the China box office.

His film PK became the highest grossing Indian film ever in China. It has earned a whopping amount of 140 crs net box office surpassing the records of 3 Idiots and Dhoom 3. It had released on a huge scale of 4000 screens.

Interestingly, Aamir's '3 Idiots' became the first Indian films that were screened publicly in China since 1970, post which several Indian films garnered a gateway into the China market. In fact, the film struck an instant chord with China's famously overworked students, so much so that some Chinese universities were, last year, even prescribing the film in their coursework as a kind of stress-relief in their classrooms.

Now Aamir's latest release, 'Dangal' is all set to release in a bigger way. A source close to the project says that Aamir enjoys a huge fan following in China as well. The distributor has planned a huge scale release across the country'.

'Dangal' has been setting new benchmarks with every passing day. It is the first in Bollywood to enter the 385 crore club in India making it the highest grossing Hindi film of all times.

The biopic based on Mahavir Phogat training his daughters Geeta and Babita to become world class wrestlers has struck a chord with the audience for its good content. People have loved the sensitive portrayal of the father-daughter relationship and have been deeply moved by stellar performances by Aamir Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra and the entire cast.

The movie has not only been entertaining the audiences with its long theatrical run but has also kept the cash counters ringing. Now post the huge theatrical success the movie has created a storm even with's digital rights.
