Having made her Tamil debut with ‘Pudhu Pattu’ (1990) Suman Ranganathan returns on the big screens of Tamil with Ajith’s much awaited film ‘Aarambam’.

Making a comeback to Tamil nearly after 18 years, Suman essays the role of a tough journalist in ‘Aarambam’. Suman, who made her on screen debut with a Telugu movie, gradually moved on to Kannada and then Tamil industry. Later she stepped into Hindi films and emerged one of the glamorous heroines in Bollywood.

Interestingly, it is said that the actress got the film’s offer while she was away in Bali enjoying her holidays. The script was actually narrated to her over the phone. It is said that initially the actress was hesitant about giving her nod for the movie, but when the makers revealed her that the film has stars like Ajit and Aarya, Suman got convinced for being in ‘Aarambam’.

Suman, who was known for her roles in ‘Perumpulli’ and ‘Maanagara Kaaval’, said to be having a very prominent role in this Ajit starrer action thriller. Now it depends on the response of ‘Aarambam’, whether Suman will take up more Tamil projects or not. ‘Aarambam’ also features other Bollywood cast including Mahesh Manjrekar and Atul Kulkarni.

Directed by Vishnuvardhan, ‘Aarambam’ is slated to release on 31st Oct and it also stars Nayantara, Arya and Tapasee, besides Ajit in lead.
