When a 13-year-old girl did not return home after going out to buy ice-cream, it was assumed that she had been abducted by a neighbour. Three months later, she returns pregnant and asks to be with the man suspected of her abduction.

Police booked the suspect, 22-year-old cook working at a local restaurant, under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences for Act. He later told police that he had married the girl, which made police charge him under Child Marriage Restraint Act. Police have also arrested two witnesses` of the marriage.

The young girl reportedly told a court that she wished to be with Khan, and has been put under the care of Children Welfare Committee. No decision has been arrived at regarding her pregnancy.
