Premgi Amaran is a quality comedian, who made us laugh in 'Chennai 600028' and 'Saroja'. Making his avatar as music-composer in 'Adhae Neram Adhae Idam', he gives a different feel as he makes us happy all through. Targeted at youngsters, the album has new sounds and Premji does his best to make it racy and entertaining.

The movie produced by Ramakrishna and directed by M Prabhu, features Jai, Vijayalakshmi and 'Lollu Sabha' Jeeva in lead roles. Besides crooning himself, Premji has chosen a young brigade including Haricharan, Vijay Yesudass, Harini and his brother Venkat Prabhu to sing songs in the album. All the songs are penned by Lalithanandh.

Venkat Prabhu's casual rendition of a racy song is the highlight of 'Adhae Neram Adhae Idam'.

Premji Amaran begins with a bang. The song speaks a lot about friendship, romance and also about how to love a girl. This happy-go-lucky song is all the more brisk thanks to the use of trumpets and drums. Premji's cool deep-throated voice adds shine to it.

'Kangal Irandal' in Subramaniyapuram was set in Reethigowla. Many a popular songs in Tamil Cinema are based on it. This song has strains of the popular Classical raaga.

Mildly romantic, the song combines veena, flute and guitars. It proves to be a catchy tune that is very appealing. Equally impressive are the voices of Haricharan and Harini.

Singer: ( Vijay Yesudas, Saindavi, Tanvi)

Lyricist: Lalithanandh

Yet another song that is appealing. Seemingly impressed by the Arabian style of music, Premji has given a tune that has music which is a blend of instruments that are ethnic to the Arabian world. Vijay Yesudas's subdued rendition coupled with the dominant voice of Saindavi works out well. The lyrics are however average.

Singer: (Haricharan, Premgi Amaran)

Lyricist: Lalithanandh

For those who think Premji Amaran can't come up with soothing numbers, he has proved otherwise with the song. It is a sad song set between two friends. One who consoles a friend who is down in the dumps because of love love failure. Haricharan brings sorrow in his voice, while Premji oozes confidence with his. The use of percussion instruments add more sheen to it.

5.    Nammoru Chennaiyila  Listen here

Singer: (Venkat Prabhu)

Lyricist: Lalithanandh

This is the song of the album indeed. It has the 'naughty' voice of Venkat Prabhu and mischievous lyrics by Lalithanandh. Shenai and racy rhythm combine well indeed. All marks to Venkat Prabvhu for rendering it with the right feel and emotion. Sure to become a craze among youngsters.

Kudos to Premji for he has succeeded in catching the pulse of the youngsters well. All the songs in the album are catchy and sure to make it big.
