When it comes to savouring on-screen adaptation of 'Raavan', there has been a mixed response amongst audience for both Abhishek Bachchan (Raavan) as well as Arjun Rampal (Ra.One). However with Manoj Bajpai stepping into the same shoes for 'Lanka' where he is playing yet another version of the greatest mythological villain ever, there may just be something really different, engrossing and exciting in the offering. This stems from Manoj's open challenge where he claims that no other actor in the industry would even dare to touch this character here, leaving aside enacting it well.

"As the modern day Raavan, Manoj is all set to surprise and shock the audience. Though he has a humane side to him in the film, there is this terrifying villainous streak to his character that has never been seen before. In any case he had pushed the envelope earlier in 'Aks' where he played an unpretentious villain. With 'Lanka', he is going many miles ahead," informs a source.

Adds Manoj, "Yes, I have taken a great risk with 'Lanka' since a terrifying character like this has been never seen before. However after seeing this film I think i was right in doing this film. I am proud of it."

With Arjan Bajwa and Tia Bajpai as the younger leads in the film, Maqbool Khan directed 'Lanka' releases all over on 9th December.
