Ace director Mani Ratnam made his debut in 1983 with the Kannada film Pallavi Anupallavi` starring Anil Kapoor and Lakshmi and his second was the Malayalam film Unaru` starring Mohanlal as the hero. However, his first Tamil film is Pagal Nilavu` which came out in the year 1985 starring Murali and Revathi as the lead pair while Sathyaraj donned the role of a wily rural don.

Mani Ratnam`s Kaatru Veliyidai` starring Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari is nearing completion and there is a buzz around K-town that the master craftsman has already kick started preliminary work for his next. The sources add that the new film will have young hunk Atharvaa Murali as the hero. Well it`s a Mani film and we cannot take anything for granted and have to wait till the man himself makes an official announcement.
