Aishwarya Rai Bachan in Child Labor Controversy

A few days back Amitabh Bachan, Aishwarya Rai Bachan along with South stars Nagarjuna, Prabhu and Vikram Prabhu participated in the inaugural function of a popular Jewelry store in Chennai. The celebrities have also featured in several advertisements for the said store.

Controversy has erupted as in one of the ads Aishwarya appears decked in gold and seated majestically with a impoverished boy holding an umbrella to her. An organization has written to Aishwarya stating that this ad promotes child labor and bonded labor and requested the actress and all concerned to withdraw the controversial ad. Nothing has been heard from either Aishwarya or the jewelry store management as yet.
