The verdict is out though and it has turned out to be a win-win situation for all. Both 'Son of Sardaar' and 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' have managed to bring in good 'moolah' and despite lesser number of screens and premium theatres missing from its list, 'Son of Sardaar' has managed to strike the right notes.

Even though reviews coming the film's way were far from encouraging, Ajay Devgn, who has seldom been bothered by lack of critical acclaim for his 'masala' entertainers, it unfazed.

Returning from the short vacation that he took with his entire family in Goa post the film's release, he says that the film has worked entirely up to his expectations and for the target audience, it has turned out to be just the kind of entertainment they wanted this Diwali.

"We had conveyed it during the initial campaign of the film itself that 'Son of Sardaar' is not just about comedy. It had action as well and catered to kids as well as grown ups.

Moreover, the sheer premise of the film was that it had to be a 'mardon waali' love story. You know the kind where hero jaan dene ki bajay jaan le bhi sakta hai. I am quite happy with the way film shaped up as there was a good love story element to it as well.

The fact that audience rooted for the film further consolidates our belief in telling the tale as it deserved", says Ajay.

With the film's collections crossing the 100 crore mark, hence turning out to be fourth such film of Ajay Devgn (after 'Golmaal 3', 'Singham' and 'Bol Bachchan'), the superstar is now all set to bring in his fifth century with Sajid Khan directed 'Himmatwala' which is releasing on 29th March next year.
