Irrespective of the fact that there could be detractors from within the industry or critics who may not always agree with Akshay's films, the directors who work with him once vouch for him repeatedly, case in point being Priyadarshan, Anees Bazmee, Vipul Shah and Sajid Khan.

However, his doors continue to be open for even men like Anthony D'Souza (Blue), Nagesh Kukunoor (8X10 Tasveer) and Vijay Krishna Acharya (Tashan) with whom he didn't quite make commercially successful films the first time round but is willing to work with them all over again.

"Absolutely", Akshay responds promptly, "In fact these directors happen to be some of my favourite. See, not all movies scripts add up to what you think they would, but you can not foresee that. No one can for that matter."

He goes on to add, "Anyone can approach me. I am open to reading scripts and I do read every script that is sent across to my office. If someone presents an idea in front of me, and my heart and the pit of my stomach is telling me ‘Go for it Akshay’, I am not the one to back down and be scared of the gamble. "
