Ex-Mega Star of Telugu cinema, Union Minister of state for Tourism Dr. K. Chiranjeevi said Allu Ramalingaiah was a true Gandhian in his body, mind and soul. Speaking in an event marking Late actor Allu Rama Lingaiah's birthday and felicitation of senior actor Kota Srinivasa Rao with Allu Rama Lingaiah National Award organized by Saripalli Kondala Rao in Hyderabad, the Minister, who was also the son in law of the ace actor opined so.

Chiranjeevi added 'Allu was not just a great actor but an incredibly professional one too. The day his son died, he finished shooting his part in a film and only then went to see his son off. An altruist, he was a philosophical disciple to Rama Krishna Parama Hamsa. I got inspired by him in so many occasions and I am happy today that the award is presented to another actor of the same stature and integrity'.

Minister Kasu Venkata Krishna Reddy said ‘Cinema can wipe off evil from the society and it should work in that direction. There are many more senior artists like Kota who are due to receive their ‘Padmasri’ awards’. State Official Language Commission Mandali Budhdha Prasad said ‘Allu gave an insight into social and political issues for Chiranjeevi and Kota gave importance to dialects of Telugu language’

Actor Brahmanandam said ‘Allu means happiness. I feel proud to have acted along with him’. Actor Allu Arjin said ‘Proud to be his grandson and he was an actor who could live any character with any number of different shades’ Tanikella Bharani reminisced his own association with the actor.

Kota was felicitated by the ministers and film personalities present on the stage including IPS M. Siva Prasad, Writer Paruchuri Venkateshwara Rao, actor LB Sriram, Dr. Venkateshwara Rao, Bellampalli Srinivas etc.
