Malayalam super hit comedy based family entertainer 'Bhaskar The Rascal' will be remade in Tamil and Arvind Swamy will be playing the lead role played by Mammootty in the original.

Now it has been confirmed that Amala Paul will reprise the female lead role played by Nayanthara in Malayalam.

The remake will be directed by Siddique who directed the original. He has apparently made slight changes in the script to suit Tami sensibilities.

Actress Meena's daughter Baby Nainika who made a remarkable debut with last year's blockbuster Vijay starrer 'Theri' will be playing Amala's daughter in the film.

Siddique has revealed that the shoot will commence by the end of March, 2017.

Arvind is presently busy shooting for 'Sathurangavettai 2' and the untitled film with director Selva.

Amala on the other hand is busy with multiple projects such as 'Vada Chennai', 'VIP 2', 'Thiruttu Payale 2' and director 'Mundasupatti' Ramkumar's untitled film.
