The award winning sound designer Resul Pookutty is turning director.

Buzz is that Resul Pookutty is coming up with a project, whose script is said to be written by his friend Amitabh Singh.

The story is inspired from a news report that Singh had come across on TV. After he penned down the script, Singh took it to Pookutty who was very impressed with it and immediately decided to turn it into a film.

Coincidentally, while the script has been written by Amitabh Singh, Pookutty has planned to rope in the megastar Amitabh Bachchan for the film and he has approached him for the same.

According to sources, the veteran star interestingly, will play a Pakistani character. "The character is from another country but it is not a political film.

It's an extremely humane subject that touches the lives of people on both sides of the border," said Pookutty to sources in an interview.

It is heard that although Big B has verbally given his nod for the untitled project, he is yet to confirm it by signing the dotted lines.

Talks are that AR. Rahman, who Resul considers as his "Big Brother", will compose for the film.
