For the first time The Bachchan’s majestic abode has thrown open its doors to allow the film walas to capture the iconic spaces to showcase on big screens.

For his forthcoming short story, Anurag Kashyap sought the permission of megastar Amitabh Bachchan to shoot in his bungalow Prateeksha. Kashyap’s short film, which is part of ‘Bombay Talkies’, revolves around an ardent fan of Big B and how he travels from Allahabad to Mumbai to fulfill his dying mother’s last wish of feeding the superstar home-made sweet pickle.

Incidentally this is the first time that a film’s shooting is taking place inside the Bachchan’s residence. According to sources, Kashyap’s film will include scenes shot in the bungalow's porch, drive-way and main reception area.

‘Bombay Talkies’ is an ode to cinema by four prolific film makers - Zoya Akhtar, Dibarkar Bannerjee, Anurag Kashyap and Karan Johar. The project is a landmark feature film of this year releasing on the centenary date 3 May when we complete 100 years of cinema.
