With Selva Raghavan at the helm, creativity was the key word that made Aayirathil Oruvan’s audio launch on Sunday the special event that it was. But the director kept his speech to the minimum, and let the songs do the talking.

But no, the songs weren’t played at the audio launch. They were performed. That too, by the creative genius who made the songs himself. GV Prakash Kumar, music composer of ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’, gave the music hungry audience a sample of what the CD contained. He performed four songs live, including a song that had Dhanush get on stage to croon.

Karthi, Reema Sen and Andrea made their presence felt, even as the centre stage was occupied for most time by other artistes, as the event included a fashion show, a Kalari performance, Chenda Melam by women from Kerala and a classical dance by actress Poorna.

‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ is being produced by Dream Valley Corporation, and has Karthi, Reema, Andrea and Parthiban playing important roles. The director called it a different attempt, as he expressed his appreciation for all the junior artistes who made this endeavour possible.
