In the wake frequent requests and threatening letters to ban the film Thenaliraman, AGS Entertainemtns, the producers of the period flick have issued a official press statement clarifying that the film is based on a imaginary story and not an adaptation of Thenaliraman’s life. This is expected to lay to rest the allegations of a few less known groups that the film depicts Thenaliraman and the Vijayanagara King Krishnadevaraya in poor light.

Thenaliraman is the comeback venture of ace comedy actor Vadivelu who plays dual role in the flick. Yuvaraja Dhayalan has directed the film apart from writing the script.
