Director Shankar is presently busy shooting for '2.0' the sequel to his blockbuster sci-fi flick 'Enthiran'. Now we learn that another blockbuster film directed by him will have a sequel.

'Nayak' the Bollywood remake of director Shankar's Tamil blockbuster 'Mudhalavan' released in 2001. The film was directed by Shankar himself starring Anil Kapoor and Rani Mukharjee in lead roles.

'Nayak' may not be so successful like its original at the box office. But the recent data show that 'Nayak' is the film that has been telecast in Hindi satellite channels for the most number of times. This shows that there is a large number of admirers for the film.

So after a gap of 15 years, an idea of a sequel to 'Nayak' has sparked. The more interesting scoop is that the story for the sequel will be penned by noted screenwriter K.V.Vijayendra Prasad, the father of S.S.Rajamouli. Prasad's had written the story for 'Baahubali' and 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' the two biggest Indian blockbusters of 2015.

While 'Nayak' was produced by A.M.Ratnam, Eros International will be funding the sequel which is most likely to retain Anil Kapoor in the lead role of the common man turned Chief Minister.

As of now the talks are in initial stages and we will have to wait for the official announcement of this big ticket project.
