Ace director Dasari Narayana Rao expressed his deep grief and shock over the death of veteran actress Anjali Devi a few hours ago today. He said 'Anjali Devi was the most attached actress in Telugu Film Industry. Every family in Telugu households treat her as a mother. Incidentally, she was also the Mother in my first film 'Tata Manavadu' and was greatly instrumental in the film's success'.

The director reminded that she continued her relationship with him ever since and acted in at least 25 films in his direction. She played roles of heroine, mother, sister and become the family member of South Indian cinema. Especially her portrayal of Sita in the epic 'Lava Kusha' will remain in Telugu hearts forever. I pray her soul rests in peace.'
