As announced on March 18th, the prestigious 60th National Awards ceremony was held yesterday (3rd May) in New Delhi. Ace actor Annu Kapoor received the Rajat Kamal for Best Supporting Actor, from the hands of President Pranab Mukherjee.

In fact, this is Kapoor’s fifth award of the year for ‘Vicky Donor’. He was earlier awarded Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor, Screen Award for Best Actor in a Comic Role and Apsara Star Guild Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role and Apsara Star Guild Award for Best Actor in a Comic Role for the same film this year.

An elated Annu Kapoor said, "I feel humbled and express my gratitude for the National Award, which I dedicate to my mother, late Shrimati Kamal Kapoor. I would like to thank Shoojit Sircar who made this film, to all those who worked with me in it specially Dolly Ahluwalia, Ayushmann Khurrana, Bhavesh Pandya who played my compounder, Juhi Chaturvedi who wrote this beautiful script, to cinematographer Kamaljeet Negi, to my wife Pami Kapoor and to all my audience who loved me so much. This is the moment to thank everyone."

The jury this year was headed by filmmakers Basu Chatterjee, Aruna Raje and film critic Swapan Mullick.

Kapoor is currently shooting for the film Muavzaa near Delhi and will soon be seen ticking everyone’s funny bones again in ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana 2’ alongside Dharmendra, Bobby Deol and Sunny Deol this summer.
