Thursday, January 1, 1970 • Hindi Comments

There have been numerous madcap movies featuring dozens of artists sharing the screen space. 'Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron' is a flick from the past that comes to the mind first while in the present times Priyadarshan has made maximum number of such movies, whether it is 'Hera Pheri', 'Hungama', 'Hulchul' or 'Malamaal Weekly'. After an immensely successful 'Kya Kool Hain Hum', director Sangeeth Sivan comes forward to attempt such genre and the result of that is 'Apna Sapna Money Money'.

A story where each of the characters dreams of nothing but MONEY!

What happens when a mechanic, a conman, a club dancer, an upright cop, an obsessed father and his homely daughter, a tabela owner, a ruthless gangster, a deadly don & his moll and an unpredictable dog come together? It's time to cheer 'Apna Sapna Money Money'.

What's common between each of these characters? They all crave for only one thing in life - money, money and some more money! And destiny brings them all together when they find one common target that would make them achieve their goal of wealth and luxuries - a bunch of diamonds that are worth crores and are hidden somewhere.

Yes, there are quite a few of them who are after these diamonds but for a select few, the chase is just to find true love. But then isn't the one he/she loves also running after this money?

Let's introduce you to each of these characters!

The central protagonist in the film is Kishan Dev Saxena [Riteish Deshmukh] whose strength lies in his ability to disguise himself in whatever manner, depending upon the need of the situation. A conman by profession, he can be found walking on a road as a nerd, an old man or even a fulsome 'desi' female. Wanna meet him? Don't worry, he may just be a street away! But beware of him, because you could be his next victim. Other than his scheming mind, his heart also works full time since he is in love with Julie.

Julie [Koena Mitra], a girl from a Mumbai Basti, who loves to dance, dream, love and take risks. Provided? She sees the money, honey! She lives in a 'basti' and has all the 'masti' but she isn't content with just a 'chavanni' as what she is looking for is a bag full of 'booty'! Will Kishan help her realize her dreams?

Kishan's friend is Arjun Fernandez [Shreyas Talpade], who is poor but still doesn't have to worry about anything at all. Why? Because rich Kishan hai naa! Content with his basti, a small garage, his dog named Badshah, an orphan child Titli and his lady love, his life was just perfect. But who was this love? She was Shivani Pandit [Ria Sen], a girl whose simplicity lied in her body as well as soul. In spite of the world running after all the money, for Shivani her world was Arjun. And to top it all, her father was in favor of her match too! No wonder people asked, "Is he blind?"

Well yes, he actually was! He was Pt. Satyabol Shastri [Anupam Kher], a man who had himself found true love off late [was it for real by the way] and now wanted to get married himself on the occasion of coming together of Shivani and Arjun.

But would it be all so easy? Especially with Don Danny Carlos [Jackie Shroff] being loose. Operating from Bangkok, he was a Don with style and offered to wish a diamond ring worth a crore to anyone who could join his gang as a Trustee! The person closest to him was someone who had the worst reputation of all! No wonder her name was Sania Badnam [Celina Jaitley]. Originally belonging to Goa, she was happy being Carlos' moll because he was her key to the diamonds stacked in his treasure!

Some other players in this big game were Ranaji [Chunkey Pandey] and Mata Prasad [Rajpal Yadav]. Ranaji who was a Don from Nepal considered himself to be the biggest con-master of all but now wanted<
