Is it going to be a clash of titans? We are talking about the scheduled release of Baahubali-The Conclusion converging with the tentative release date of another film by a few days. No, we are not referring to Rajinikanth-Shankar duo's Robot 2.0, which may most likely not release in April 2017. The reference is to the as-yet-untitled Mahesh Babu-AR Murugadoss movie.

With the tentative release of Mahesh's Rs. 100 cr movie said to be April 14, there is a speculation that it's going to be a clash of the titans (as far as the Telugu market is concerned), given that Rajamouli's second edition of his magnum opus will most likely hit the marquee on April 28 or so. Unlike in 2015, when 'Baahubali-The Beginning' (July 10) and 'Srimanthudu' (August 7) were spaced adequately, this is going to be a close one.

While the Rajamouli period drama is a behemoth of international standing, Mahesh's costliest film ever is an ambitious Telugu-Tamil bi-lingual with huge potential for raking in the moolah Overseas, especially the US, which is Mahesh's forte. Releasing these movies within less than 14 days will most likely eat in to the profit margin of one or both of them. The makers of Mahesh's film have to take a tough call. After all, 'Baahubali-The Conclusion' has an insuperable popularity outside the Telugu States.
