Tuesday, March 1, 2011 • Malayalam Comments

Young director Renjith Shankar has made such an impact on Mollywood with his debut movie 'Passenger' that much of the Mollywood audience are eagerly waiting for his second movie 'Arjunan Saakshy' which will have him with the young super hero Prithviraj. This time too, Renjith Shanakr will deal with certain social issues like real estate mafia and wide spread corruption that the state of Kerala has fallen prey to.

'Arjunan Saakshy' will have Prithviraj as Roy Mathew, a young architect who was born and brought up outside Kerala. As he had always dreamt of making a life in his mother land, he decides to comeback and settle down in Cochin. But when he is finally into his dream surroundings, he realises that this was not the city that he has always dreamt of. A totally different Kochi emerging as the play ground of political goons, media, bureaucracy and corruption, with the real estate mafia ruling the entire area really makes him act different, much different than he ever expected. The ever skeptical views of Malayalees and young generation caged with latest Media revolution and mobile phones also put him off. But the chance encounter of a very strange friend Arjunan, makes him think differently. In fact Arjunan was waiting for long to share his life story of a failed hero with Roy Mathew. With the help of his story, Arjunan discovers many unknown facets of present malayalee culture.

Ann Augustine, who debuted through Lal Jose's hit movie, Elsamma Enna Aankutty plays the heroine of 'Arjunan Saakshy'. She will be in the role of city bred investigative journalist Anjali Menon, who happens to get involved in certain social issues that surrounds Roy Mathew. Jagathy Sreekumar, Nedumudi Venu, Vijayaraghavan, Biju Menon, Suresh Krishna and Vijeesh are also part of the cast of this movie, which is also scripted by the director.

Ajayan Vincent handles the cinematography while Ranjan Abraham is in charge of editing of 'Arjunan Saakshy'. Lyrics are by Anil Panachooran and the musical score is by Bijibal.

Prithviraj pins high hopes on this movie which will get to theatres in a few weeks. Produced by S Sundararajan under the banner of SRT Films, 'Arjunan Saakshy' would be distributed by SRT Films.
