Bommalattam (puppet show) has caught the attention of Arya. The actor, who has floated a production house called ‘The Show People’, has used an image of the ancient art form as the company’s logo.

Under ‘The Show People’ banner, the actor is currently busy doing two projects- ‘Boss Engira Baskaran’ and ‘Padithurai’. While the first venture will feature Arya himself in the lead role, the second featuring new comers is directed by debutant Suga.

“I am happy that after serious outings in ‘Naan Kadavul’ and ‘Madrasapattinam’, I got the opportunity to do ‘Boss Engira Baskaran’. Directed by Rajesh of ‘Siva Mansula Sakthi’ fame, it is an out-and-out comical entertainer and has come good,” said Arya, while speaking from the sets of the film on Monday.

“Though I have done light-hearted in roles in films like ‘Arindhum Ariyamalum’ before, in ‘Boss Engira Baskaran’, I just did what Rajesh wanted me to do. He was my inspiration,” the actor-producer said. Nayantara is his heroine in the film, which was originally produced by Vasan Visual Ventures and will be released by Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies.
