Aseem Merchant is on a roll these days. Soon after his critically acclaimed performance in "The Train" he has signed "Wanted dead or alive" (remake of Pokhiri") opposite Salman Khan.

Besides he has also signed an International Project Uru Patel's "Hanuman" with Keanu Reeves and Shilpa Shetty. And continuing his good run he has signed another film, a love story "Ashima" based on an award winning Bengali novel. The film is directed by Shishir Mishra and stars Gracy Singh opposite him.

Aseem plays a very challenging role of a suave sophisticated doctor who falls in love with a trainee doctor with a mysterious background.

Says Aseem, "It's a very beautiful script, with different layers. It's a very subtle and yet challenging. Though I have not read the original novel as I can't read Bengali, but I got a fair idea after reading the script. It's a beautiful story as expected from the rich Bengali literature."

He also adds, "I am mentally preparing for the role as the movie has different layers and needs a lot of focus. I crave to do quality cinema."
