Try as much as we may want, it is difficult to keep Sathyaraj away from these news columns.

At a time when actors of his age have moved into semi-retirement, the tall actor is signing up new films after new films or celebrating the success of his movies.

Yesterday evening, it was the case of the latter.

And it was here again he was at his witty best.

‘It is difficult to write stories to suit my image and make it do well at the box office,’ says Sathyaraj.

Speaking at the 100th day celebrations of Englishkaran directed by Sakthi Chidambaram, Sathyaraj said ‘interestingly a crop of young directors have come who have been feeding with good characters’.

Heaping praises on Sakthi Chidambaram, he said, ‘we have rendered back-to-back hits and are looking forward for our next Kovai Brothers.’

Glam girl Namitha and actress Madhumitha, who played the heroines in the movie thanked the whole crew for making the movie a success. Vadivelu chose the occasion to express his admiration for Sathyaraj.

A host of celebrities including actors Sibiraj, JeyamRavi, director Raja, Editor Mohan, music-director Deva were also present on the occasion.
