When you are desperate you seldom make the right moves. This is partly true in Atanokkade. It is Kalyan Ram's ambitious aim at glory. And going for glory, he seems to have over stretched himself. Still, there is enough spunk in the story and its treatment to sustain your interest.

Ram (Kalyan Ram) moves to Hyderabad to study and so Anjali (Sindhu Tolani) and her family. The duo go to the same college, share same tastes and have one common but secret ambition --- to take out the goon Anna (Ashish Vidyarthi) and his venal cohorts.

The reason? Both Ram and Anjali's families (actually, they are relative and hence are part of the same family) had bore the brunt of Anna's atrocities. The story is about how Ram and Anjali join hands in life and in revenge.

The story may seem ordinary, but the spirit is supplied by some inspired direction and interesting screenplay  ---- both handled by Surendra. He sure has a sharp nous for the medium and uses technology adroitly. He also sustains the tempo with a surprise suspense.

The action sequences have been filmed with rare technical brilliance.

On the acting front, Kalyan Ram is okay but still has a long way to go before he can call himself as to be truly part of the Nandamuri clan.

Sindhu Tolani is beautiful and is adequate in her simple role. Prakash Raj is sharp in his small role and Asish Vidyarthi goes over the top as is his wont.

The music of Mani Shrama (especially re-recording) is an asset to the film.

On the whole, the film is good, bad and slightly indifferent.
