Lakshmi movie makers' 'Silambattam', stars Silambarasan and debutante Sana Khan in the lead roles. Cinematographer Saravanan directs this film which has Simbu in the role of a Hindu, Brahmin priest. Prabhu Ganesan plays the role of an inspector in 'Silambattam'.

The film has music scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja and three songs of the film 'Nalamthana' – the remix of the evergreen classic song from the film 'Thillana Mohanambal', 'Thamizh', a typical hero-glorification song and 'Ennavo Pannala' a peppy number with mischief as the backdrop have been set to good music and are expected to become chart busters.

Currently, the climax scenes are being shot for the movie. The crew of 'Silambattam' has done something very new that they have come up with an audio trailer for the film for the first time, unlike in the rest of the movies which usually release the trailer with audio-visuals.
